Friends, we are excited to announce that we will be partnering with the folks at FAHRT as a part of their Tw2j series again this fall on October 10, 2026 at Catskill Outpost and Stamford Coffee in Stamford NY from noon to 5. Similar to last year’s event, there will be food, beverage, music, merch, and good people. We have put together a couple of loops starting and ending at the event.

We will most likely also be doing a casual group ride in the morning from Belleayre to the event. Check insta a little closer to the event date. for details. The leaves are already changing, but we there should still be a bit of residual leaf peeping action to take in. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Over the past several years, CMC has evolved through multiple iterations. Catskills Moto Club started as tongue-in-cheek moniker for a transient group of folks who found themselves riding together in the Catskills under the socially distant shadows of the COVID era. Eventually the ‘club’ became a less transient core group of riders and a little less tongue in cheek. Over the past two years, it was evident that Catskills Moto Club needed some sort of headquarters that isn’t Jake’s garage. So the search started for some place for us to call home.
In February of 2026, we identified a spot in Stamford, NY that is literally feet from some of our most frequently visited spots along Main Street. It is an old barn owned by Village, which it no longer had any use for and was/is in dire need of some TLC. After an initial round of due diligence, we decided that it might just work. We went under contract in the first week of March, hoping to close by early summer and be able to spend the summer making it our own.
As fate would have it, the process dragged and dragged. Dealing with a municipality always takes a little bit longer. But red tape aside, everything that could go wrong, did. By the end of August, when we still hadn’t closed, and did not have a clear picture where the status of things even stood, we were starting to lose hope that the deal would actually happen.

It was about that time, that Szabi and I were taking the maiden ride on our new (to us) XT600s. We made a stop in Stamford to say hi to our boy Sal (a fellow rider) at Catskill Outpost, and to show him the bikes. Jake started complaining about how long it was taking to purchase the barn, and Sal replied with something like, “I know dude, you were on the front page of the paper this week.” At first we thought he was joking, but then we was like, “no dude, really” before running next door to grab the latest edition of Mountain Eagle. We were initially dumbfounded, since we clearly had not yet closed on the thing. But apparently the Village had finally officially voted on the sale and it was approved!
We are very happy to report that we finally sealed the deal last Thursday. Now that the ‘easy’ part is over, the real work starts. This barn is going to take A LOT of work to get it back in good working order. As things start to take shape at our new HQ, we have a long list of ideas that include the broader local riding community (and community generally). We will be sharing them when the time is right. Very happy to be the proud new owners of this humble structure. Here’s to its potential!
I’m happy to report that we all made it back in one piece from the massive 2 week European ride that Szabi planned. We missed Lukas, who had to cancel at the last minute because of some events in his family that required his attention.
Here is a mega-gallery from the trip, minus some key stops (most notably Misano, Ancona, Split, Mostar, Sarajevo, and Budapest). We rode about 2200 miles over 12 days and covered over half a dozen countries (I’m sure that Szabi will give a more accurate breakdown when he publishes the itinerary). By the last leg of the trip, I was admittedly too exhausted to be able to safely ride while also trying to get some snaps from the saddle. I do have a bunch of stuff on my phone from when we were not on the bikes, that I may publish in a later gallery. But for now, enjoy these snaps, in no particular order.

We had another great iteration of the annual ADX weekend, this year. It was the same crew as last year with a few caveats. We had a new friend join us on the Friday section, starting in Catskill Park up until we stopped for lunch at Taco29 in Cahajoharie. Lukas’ bike was being a diva and he would not be getting it back from the shop in time to ride (nor could we round up a loaner in time). So he opted to join us on 4 wheels. It was actually pretty nice to have support vehicle come along! Russ was finishing an extended vacay in VT and ended up riding straight from there to meet up with us in Newcomb on Friday Night.
We mixed in a new unpaved section on Saturday, through the heart of Adirondack Park, where we encountered some sections of deep sand and deep gravel. Happily, everyone managed to make it through without issue, even Szabi on the Ducati Hyper, rocking Pirelli Corsa Rosso IVs!
Another highlight from Saturday’s loop was finally having nice enough weather to jump into the secret swimming hole that we stumbled across a couple years ago. Ultimately, we spent so much time goofing around on Saturday, that we did not make it to Lake Placid until well after 4:00PM, and subsequently arrived at the entrance gate for Whiteface after they had closed for the day. Can’t win ’em all!
I logged roughly 740 miles on the weekend. The guys who came up from the city obviously clocked significantly more. Good times were had by all. Can’t wait to do it again next year.

What was meant to be a Memorial Day ride got rained/frozen out and rescheduled for Saturday June 27. We met up on the early side at the P Diner. Most of the usual suspects were traveling or otherwise indisposed. But what we may have lacked in quantity, we made up for in quality. We had a feeling it was going to be a good day, when this dope old Saab pulled up next to our bikes with the top down. The good omen proved to be true. We had ideal weather for the entire ride. We had a bit of a false start on our first attempt at a 2026 spring club group ride over Memorial Day weekend, since it ended up being low 50s and pouring rain all weekend. We’re offering a rebate for what will surely be an excellent day of riding, with a 100ish mile jaunt curated by Szabi (A/K/A the route gawd). Jumping off from the Phoenicia Diner, lunch at Ravenwood, then ending back in Phoenicia. Everyone is welcome to join. Good vibes only. See you there!
We are not totally out of snow season yet here in the Catskills. But mama nature did recently gift us with a handful of days with temps in the high 50s and low to mid-60s. During one such day I was able to get in a nice Pepacton loop ride via Millbrook Rd. I also dipped into a few of the unpaved seasonal connectors on the way over. All of the unpaved sections are freshly graded and have a nice new topcoat of gravel. It’s safe to say that they were in better shape than most of the paved sections leading over to the actual reservoir loop. This bodes well for all of the early-season NEBDR riders. The brutal winter and super wet spring have left a lot of loose debris on the back roads. I’m happy to say that the actual loop was very clean and smooth. Here’s to a great riding season, friends!
On a recent idyllic Saturday morning, the CMC crew joined forces with the folks at Fahrt for the Catskill Brewery edition of their 2wTj series. A few of us met up on the early side in Highmount for a group ride to the event. The weather was brisk, but not chilly and there was barely a cloud in the sky. We took a winding route through Frost Valley and ending up on Debruce Road, along the Willowemoc River before arriving at the brewery on Old Rt. 17. Along the way, there was plenty of excellent fall colored scenery. We rolled into Catskill Brewery shortly before noon, joining a small contingent of riders who were already on site. By 1:00 a really nice sized crowd of riders had gathered. We met some really cool people and generally had a great time. Our group scooted out shortly after 2 and took a long loop back toward CMC headquarters grabbing a snack at Ravenwood before swinging through Ashoken and Bearsville. Sadly, I did not grab any snaps of the post-brewery niceties. Anyway, here is a mega gallery from the morning ride, and brewery event. Enjoy!–
