Soaking Up The Late Season Goodness In Stamford, With the Crew

Anyone who has spent any decent amount of time in the Catskills could tell you that this time of year could be sunny and 70s, white-out blizzard conditions or anything in between. Good fortune prevailed last Saturday when we drew a perfectly crisp sunny autumn morning, that heated up nicely (but not too hot) and lasted all of the way into early evening.

We did a ride with our core group starting in Highmount around 11 and rode over Mill Brook, crossed the reservoir, up Tremperskill to Andes before cutting over to Bovina, where we met up with a group leaving from the Stage House. We stopped there, re-caffeinated and made some new friends while doing so.

Quick Coffee Stop in Bovina at the Stage House

From Bovina, we booked it up Rt. 5 to Rt 10, since we were already running little behind schedule at that point. When we arrived at Catskill Outpost/Stamford Coffee around 12:30, things were already in full swing! Groups of riders came and went all afternoon, but it was a solid line of bikes parked down that whole section of Main Street for the entire duration of the event. Massive thanks to everyone who came out to link up, say hi and support; to Catskill Outpost and Stamford Coffee for hosting. Thanks to Dan the man for slinging up some superb burgers. And thank you to the Fahrt guys, who were on hand just doing their usual thing, keeping everything very organized and above board.

I was leading for most of our ride, so I didn’t get as many photos from the saddle as I normally like to. But I sprinkled a few in below. Scroll down for the rest of the visual recap.
